Living independently with visual and hearing impairment can be a challenge, especially for those who are living alone or are dependent on a carer.

The most recent figures from the Central Statistics Office show that there are over 92,000 people in Ireland who are Deaf. 20% of people aged 50 years and older experience a disabling hearing loss (225,000 people in Ireland). 44% of people aged 70 years and over experience a disabling hearing loss (145,000 Irish adults).

A new study (2011) commissioned by NCBI shows that there are 224,000 people living with sight loss in Ireland. This includes those with mild and moderate vision impairment, as well as those who are blind. Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the primary cause for 23% of people registered blind in Ireland. The population of people with vision loss in Ireland is set to rise by 21% over the next 10 years to 271,996 people or 5% of the entire population.

The Solution

Living Independently with Vision and Hearing loss no longer needs to be a source of stress or anxiety.

Our solutions enable people with hearing and visual impairments to live safely at home by providing the reassurance that help can be contacted at any time of day or night.  All of our products are designed to intuitively sense when a potential issue has occurred and will connect the user directly to our 14 hour monitoring centre.

The visual call indicator and home pager provide additional support by confirming to the person that an alarm has been raised or gains their attention when a phone call is received.
